Rachel was born to kinain parents who were thankfully aware of the fae world around them. From a young age Rachel was investigating and protecting people from the monsters under the bed; she was a scrapper and liked stories about knights and chivalry best of all.

Still, she didn't Chrysalize until she was eleven or so and in unfavourable circumstances; in the years leading up to this she had been steadily making the people around her uncomfortable quite unintentionally and through no fault of her own - there was simply darkness trying to get out, and get out it did indeed.

It was decided that Rachel would go to live with her aunt, Elizabeta Simon, in Santa Cruz - her mother's sister. Itza was good with children and would be able to teach Rachel about who she was in a good environment.

Rachel developed into a little girl desperate to be a knight - to be a good protector of the innocent, a dream at odds with her primal heritage. She fears her dark side and constantly debates whether or not she is a 'monster', an issue not precisely aided by her appearance of a stitched-together Frankenstein creature. For the most part, she succeeds in coming across as a sweet girl, a talented and sensitive artist... for the most part. The brutal side of her nature comes to the forefront more often than she'd like, and she hates and fears those times while at the same time secretly reveling in them.
