Every longtime MUSHer has seen it happen: the character that looked like a
great idea on paper just doesn't work out once you actually get them out
and on the grid. The concept is there, but something just isn't meshing.

The reality shifts built into TCbT2 give us a unique way of dealing with
this issue. At any time during a character's life, the player can choose
to 'reapply' for certain changes to their character -- from just a few
alterations to their character sheet to a radically different background,
or even a different kith. If RP staff is willing to accept this
reapplication, and those closest to the character (IC Oathmates, etc.) are
OOCly willing to consent to the change, the character will be caught in the
next reality shift, and replaced with the character as reapproved.

Just like everything else changed in a reality shift, after a character has
been altered, they will be assumed to have always been that way: Continuity
staff will clean up any past references to the character to fit their new
status, and we will continue play from that point.

There are three major restrictions to this process:

1. You can do it once per character. If your reapproval doesn't fix the
issues you were trying to resolve, you will need to consider trying a
new character, rather than starting the same character a third time.

2. In order to reapply, you MUST agree to the +involve command. If you
want to ride the reality shifts to a second chance, you're riding the
    reality shifts all the way.

3. Reapplication does not get you additional points: it just lets you try
a few changes. By the same token, reapplication doesn't mean that you
lose your current XP or any XP that you may have previously spent. Your
'new' character will have the exact same power levels as the 'old'
    character.
