News Memory

Following each character's trip through the Hall, they will be assigned a
Memory score between 1 and 10. This score is not arbitrary, but under most
circumstances, also cannot be purchased during character generation. A
character's Memory score determines how much he or she remembers (or
believes that they remember...) the previous game.

Should you choose to be involved with the global plot, your character's
Memory score will rise and fall over the course of the game. You may go
from a Memory of 10 (the entire previous game is clear to you, like an open
book) to a Memory of 1 (what previous game? You're nuts...) overnight,
depending on your actions and the actions of others. Everything can change.

When there are changes to your Memory score, staff will make sure that
you're aware of what your character remembers (which is separate and
distinct from what your character may have learned during the course of the
game). Please play your Memory score appropriately; this is not only an
element of the theme, but a very large component of how our game world
functions, and it is essential that everyone remember only what their
Memory score indicates they can.
